New Toyo tires,......opinions?

Well I got new tires today, and I got the Toyo Open Country tires instead of the BFGs I have bought in the past. I do a lot of mountain driving for hunting and wheeling around, so I'd say, moderate, not really Extreme off roading....yet. It is my daily rig.
Does anyone have an opinion on the Toyo vs. the BFG tires? Experience with both? Preference? These are 33" x 10.5

I don't have any experience with the BFG's but I've had both Toyo's. I have the Toyo A/T's now and noticed that I don't get as much grip on rocks as I did with the M/T's. In mud and snow the A/T's are better! So for a DD and weekend warrior the A/T's are the best for me so far.

Please keep us informed about the Toyos. I hear they're excellent. I've only bought BFG but I'm thinking about trying out the Toyos.

I have owned quite a few KO's (not the new KO2), as well as MT's and even the new rugged terrains on the wifes 4runner currently (had them on brand new when I bought it)

On the flip side, I started to use toyo 3-4 years ago and now, buy them exclusively. I have the AT-II on two vehicles / different sizes. The AT-II has been great - long life and KEEPS their balance very well compared to BFG.

I just barely purchased the MT's for one of my 4runners Wednesday so I do not have life experience with them. I can say, they are not loud at all for an MT. I was used to my BFG MT tires howling away and constantly out of balance.

For what it is worth, I made the switch as balance always sucked terribly on my BFG's and towards the end of their life, they bounced around like they were oval shaped. With the toyos I have owned, this has never been the case (will see how the MT's go)

Here are the MT's I just had put on in a 265/75/16 - basically a 32ish x 10.5:

I second that. I have Toyo AT2's on my Tacoma and they show no sign of wear after a couple thousand miles and multiple off-road trips. They're basically silent on the highway, have great grip in rainy conditions (haven't had them in snow yet), great grip off road in dry and slightly muddy conditions, and they look cool too :thumb:

My BFG KM2s are very quiet for a M/T. And they've never gone out of balance unless a wheel weight got knocked off. I've run a lot of tough trails and have never had any of the aforementioned problems. That's why I'm so reluctant to switch brands.
