New Trail 2014 in Denver

I have always flip flopped between Tacomas and Rubicons, but Saturday I took the plunge and bought a 4Runner. So this is my first one and I love it! Just wanted to say hi to everyone on the forum!

PS: Does any one know how to take off these ugly silver trim pieces up front and in the rear? I don't like them and think they are hideous! If I can get them off, they are free to any one who wants them!

As for the trim pieces... they will leave a ton of holes in your bumpers if you take them off. Best bet is to paint or "Plastidip" them instead!

Unusually black, like the TRD Pro photos you see. But could be white depending on color of the car.

Search site for "Plastidip bumper" or or image search on google for "2014 4runner TRD Pro" or look in my build thread link below for an example of how it looks. (Midway down page two) I didn't have the extra shields and just did my entire lower bumper part, but it's the same process. Can plastidip paint them on the car too!

Can you get under it to see behind the front bumper? There has to be a few nuts and threads to remove....or maybe some push pins.

This thread shows the inside of the rear bumper and how the trim pieces are held on. (Basically a bunch or plastic retaining clips)

The front is likely much the same. You can see how huge the holes will be in the bumpers with the trim pieces removed. I don't think there is much other choice than to leave it on and paint/plastidip it a better looking color. :/
