New transmission/fluid. Spewing out breather valve???

New transmission build up. All new parts.
Filled and buttoned her up.

Transmission took more fluid than manual stated, unsure, maybe as much as a quart more before she started dribbling back out of the fill hole and we buttoned her up.

Did a new short test drives, all good, no leaks. Took her fir an hour interetate drive, stopped for gas, I smelled the burning of it on cat, tranny fluid running out. Entire transmission and undercarriage soaked in fresh fluid. Seemed to have traced source to breather valve on gear shifter. Dunno how much was lost on the road. Could be as little as 1/8qt or as much as a full or so if i was to guess.

Could that be the cause?

I'd park it and call Marlin first thing in the morning. If you do anything at all to isolate or repair you could be giving them a reason to invalidate the warranty.

Sounds like it was over filled.

FYI.

We drained the Valvoline, and refilled with some Coastal dad had, taking special care not to refill. Same thing.

Now that break-in period has passed. Drained the dino crap, and filled with AMSOil GL4. All good.
