New TRD Style Grille

Here's the pics for the wiring on the lights, I used these Christmas lights clips I had laying around to hold the wiring and to keep it from showing from the outside. Also used zip ties to keep the excess wiring from sagging down.

I used a metal shirt hanger to fish the wire through the hole thats at the very corner of the hood to thats further down (I wanted to go through the heat shield but you can see its almost breaking apart from me barely touching it), I had to zip tie the wire to the hood lift support (wire does not get pinched when opening or closing)








I also used the metal hanger to fish it through the firewall (circled in red), I originally wanted to tap into the fuse box thats under the hood but everything I tried kept the lights on even when the car was off.

You went the extra miles with running the wires through the hood, I just ran mine behind the heat shielding and down to the hinge and then like you through the firewall into the cab on my stock grill with lights. Koodos :cheers:

Got it installed last night, had to trim the metal bracket and bend the arms a little to get it to line up. It definitely sits really snug with he bug deflector cause its got tabs that sit between the grill and the hood. Going to trim the wiring harness for the lights shorter and put connectors on it so it plugs right into my harness for the old lights.

Looks good! Now I caught the modding bug and now I'm looking to upgrade my suspension. I really like your setup.

Right after I started the thread, the faster shipping option was like 8-10$ more and UPS the whole way, so a lot of folks did that.

That said, I ordered the slow shipping, and mine is already with UPS stateside, so you may get it quicker.

Got my grill installed on my '06 this morning in about 20 minutes. Looks great and install was pretty straightforward. That being said I now have 2 OEM 06-09 Limited grills for sale with a V8 emblem for one of them with the color-matched bezel (silver). DM me if interested, and I'll post them in the classifieds soon as well.

Can you post a picture from the side? wanted to see how the trim around the edges looks on the 06-09 grilles

Here you go. There is a bit of a gap between the hood and the grill, but that maybe solved if I got a new rubber gasket thingy that goes around the stock grill. Not sure how hard that would be to install.

I could have missed it, but I saw someone post in one of the FB Groups that they bought two grills. One in the flat black color and the other in Gloss. Had no idea there was a gloss option for these when I was ordering. Either way I'm going to clear coat mine this weekend cause I think it would look better after wrapping some if it to get a good idea how'd it look.

The gloss option was gone by the time I posted here. When I reached out to see options, they told me they were only doing matte black.

My guess, they got more individual orders than they expected between here and FB.

Apparently, if you pick slow shipping, the emblem comes from somewhere other than the grille:

According to tracking the rest of my grille is somewhere in the Pacific, but the emblem got here today. Weird.

did you have to reuse any hardware from the original grille to install this new one? 03-05 peoples appear to have to reuse a metal bracket from original grille. wondering if same for 06-09 too.

Yes you will need to use the original hardware and metal bracket for the 06-09.
