New TRD Style Grille

Apparently, if you pick slow shipping, the emblem comes from somewhere other than the grille:

According to tracking the rest of my grille is somewhere in the Pacific, but the emblem got here today. Weird.

I think their teasing you now :lol: but weird they did it like that. There was a separate box in the main box that had the emblem in so maybe.

Here you go. There is a bit of a gap between the hood and the grill, but that maybe solved if I got a new rubber gasket thingy that goes around the stock grill. Not sure how hard that would be to install.

Same, Toyota emblem only. Wife opened the package and said wtf is? Had to explain to her that it's part of a new grill I ordered unnecessarily and the other part must be stuck in the pacific which I may or may not ever receive it. Here's hoping..

This will give you the general idea on how to do it for the most part. Now since this for the 4th gen the grill is attached to the hood. So I ran the wiring harness from the grill, behind the heat shielding on the underside of the hood and down to the corner here the hinge is at. Then down into the bay and through the rubber Gromit in the firewall to the pedals and they used a fuse tap on mine so they come on when the vehicle turns on.

Thanks! This cleared things up, I installed the grille today so will be trying this tomorrow possibly.

Here's mine

I bought mine from Alibaba. They forgot to send the center with the letters initially but I did get them a week later after I notified them (they come with silver letters from Alibaba) ... I ordered black letters from Tacoma Lifestyle (perfect fit, they're all the same) and chose to go with those vs the silver.

I'm concerned about how much gap there was with the 06-09 grille between the new grille and the hood. It was hard to tell from your picture. Also did you not use the the original rubber seal or did you just think a new one would be thicker and plug the gap sufficiently?
