Ok you got my attention now. Didn't care for a all black grill on my white 4Runner, but liking how good your color matched one looks. Looking forward to see how it looks on the truck.

03-05 guys
went to install and saw only 4 tbolts provided. How's everyone installing? Reusing reinforcement? If so, how? Original t bolts are too big to use it seems.

I noticed mine is the same, bolted mine on with only the 4 provided tbolts but haven't driven it yet. Was thinking about modifying the original tbolts with power tools. I'm guessing you have the 03-05 grille like mine?
I couldn't figure out how to reuse the original metal reinforcement bracket either, the one that reinforces the latch. I don't think it fits without cutting it up on the 03-05.

yeah, guess I'm going to try to trim around the lower corners to make the reinforcement fit. Pretty sure it comes with factory grill if I ever decide to go back a new one would already have it. Think I'm going to put 4 of the factory bolts in a vise and grind them down until they fit. Just want a solid grille. Really wishing I had steel bumper and could of used 06+ grille. Seeing them painted is making me quite jealous.

Finally got around to installing the Grill..
a few notes:
1. The old Grill fastener pins don't fit great into the new grill, took some playing with to not crack the plastic where they go in, wd40 and plier helped. But the alignment was fine once they were in.
2. The Grill support needed the corner tabs bent inward slightly and the side mounts bent flatter to line up and seat correctly. A little bending and it worked fine, no need to trim.

They don’t all seem the same. Taco vinyl fits horribly on an 08, also horrible at replying to messages to take care of it.

Awesome! thanks for the information. Was close to deciding on a steel bumper and the 06-09 grille since they look so good, but think I'll hold off until someone crashes into me and they can pay for most of it!

For 2003-2005

The hood lever bolt will cause fatigue and break. It is flimsy plastic compare to OEM.
Now it is rock solid.
FOR 2006-2009 it doesnt require any adjustment

thanks for the pics! I felt that tab and decided I was going to find out what others did cause I thought it would break in no time as well. Put factory grill back in only being held by 4 bolts now as 4 tabs broke from 308K. I'll make it a new years day project and post pics when done. Thanks again!

They all come from same supplier. The American Shops are buying in bulk for discounted rate...and selling for more than Alibaba. They make a small profit for each one they sell....

buy direct from Alibaba.
It will be a hit and miss. Mass produced...and gonna be some quality control issues.
What issues are you having?
Usually 2006-2009 grills fit better (NO MODIFCATION) compare to 2003-2005 girll.

By the way, you can you USE the original T-BOLT for the top slot in the new grill. Use a pilers to seat it down all the way. Dont use HULK force. Cinched down with 1/4 of your HULK force..
The original are bigger...than the new smaller ones..
Able to get use original for the top... and 4 included ones on the sides.

the top only goes 1 way.. and the bottom metal goes behind the grill mount spot so the bolts go through the grill and then the hood latch, make sure the bar that connects the hood to the grill is on the left most side and bent out away from interference.. there isnt much else there..
*The spot the metal bar goes in on the grill broke so I had to bend a curve/circle in it to keep it in place, which also seems to work fine..

This is the ONLY way the lever would function but this is not how I took it apart, the lever bracket sat on top and the bolts screwed in from the bottom instead of the top.
