New member
Hello Everyone I am a new owner of a 2015 SR5 in that beautiful Barcelona Red.

I've been lurking around unregistered since the mrs picked it out. Picked it up over a month a go but it has been in the shop for about 3 of those weeks due to a minor accident (my bad).

Anyway she is back in our hands and we have been enjoying every minute of driving it. I'll post pics later as she doesn't trust me with it quite as much lol.

Where the heck do you guys hang out at?

I do not see any 4Runners with mods in cypress. Ya'll need to get some t4r stickers. LOL.

We might have enough people in cypress for a meet.

I live down the street from Buccees.

I saw a 5th gen in white with a toytec sticker (and lift I assume) and a T4R sticker at Mcalisters last week. It was a good looking ride @ whomever owns it.
 
I am scheduled to pick up a trdp on the 10th. Although I am having lingering questions and have a tep order just waiting to be executed. I live right around the corner from Bucees and am there all the time!

Brickhouse Tavern and Tap at Willowbrook is where the AR15.com and TCCoA groups meet up. We could plan a t4r meet there.

You guys live close to me. I am a 1.5 miles up the road from Bucee's, off Mueschke road (just past the new Shell station and Church). My subdivision if across the big field with the cows. LOL.

why go that far, Lucky's is next to Bucee's and there is a 24hr emergency center next to that, in case someone falls off their high lift 4runner.


I have seen a 3rd gen in the area with lift, roof rack, etc.
About the only one I have seen with mods.

I'd be willing to host a meet at my house if folks could help me get my danged 4Runner to start. I'll cook up a heap of BBQ and buy beer.
 
I would take that offer but, I am not much of a mechanic.
I know how to do basic stuff and the rest I learned here and youtube.

I do know a guy that used to work at a toyota dealership. He used to do work on the side on the weekends before changing jobs to oil industry.
Last time he worked on my truck he told me he was doing it as a hobby because he did not need the $. He still charged me but, he likes working on cars that much.

Let me know if you are interested in hiring him. He is a stand up guy and way cheaper than stealerships and mechanic shops.

By the way, what is the issue with your 4Runner?

It's not starting. It has spark and will start if I put some starter fluid in the TB, but dies as soon as that is gone. It has a new MAF, fuel filter, and fresh gas. I also replaced the driveshaft and vacuum brake booster, but I don't think those would cause a no-start condition. The fuel pump is delivering fuel when I try to start it, I'm wondering if the EFI module needs to be reset after replacing the MAF.

If you have his number, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Injectors / spark plugs are first things that come to mind. How many miles are on it? Info on the car?
 
NW Houston/ Spring? Klein here. I get around Cypress area sometimes... This pic was at Haas Toyota on 249 and Spring Cypress

305k miles. It ran before I replaced the MAF, brake booster and driveshaft. I'm thinking the computer might still be using the old input. Either that or I bumped a connection loose somewhere.
 
Finally succumbed and put down a deposit on a black trdp today after they provided me with the vin. I have been dragging it out a while. Will be in the dealers this week. I am excited.

Miguelon, i assume that is your truck in the photo from Haas? Looks great! I think of Cypress / Spring / and Klein as largely the same area. I live in Cypress, grew up in Spring, and went to Klein High School. Takes me maybe 10 minutes to get to the Haas at 249 and Spring Cypress.
 
Nevermind Miguelon, I see the differences in that photo and your profile photo of your rig. Looks very similar though.

EDIT: Well I think that is your rig, I guess you have done the trd front end conversion since the profile pic. Great truck!
