TRD Skid

The TRD skid comes within a 1/4 of an inch to the warn bumper. You may be happy with that but I trimmed off 1/2 an inch. The warn has two flat bar pieces that attach the plastic to the warn bumper, and a much needed course of action. The two braces that attach the frame to the bumper really make this a sturdy fit.

Great info thanks. So there is no contact with the skid just a tight fit? Good to know that 17T4R just didn’t get all the parts and the instructions aren’t just wholly wrong.

Warn Bumper and SmittyBilt Winch Installed

I had my Warn bumper and SmittyBilt winch installed yesterday... yes i HAD it installed.... don't hate on my for not doing it myself :hunter:

I like the look, and the two fit great together, no issues..

The 4Runner does ride a bit nose heavy, which is to be expected, i think combined weight is 100lbs (ish) But I have an OME medium suspension that will compensate.

I had a light bar already in my grill and the bar does not interfere.

So far I really like it!

Looks great, I am doing mine on Friday of this week. They had no issues with the winch solenoid pack on top of the winch or did they side mount it? I am using the same winch.

they had no issues with the winch as is (no need to move the solenoid)

yes, the OME lift was installed last month, although i have NOT added bigger wheels/tires yet.

i didnt like their cutting on the sides of the plastic where it meets the warn bumper, but i will go in with a file or sander and clean that up.. One thing they DID do that I really liked was they added a plastic trim piece on top, where the warn bumper meets the plastic, that looks much more clean.

maybe something you should ask your installers to do for you. im sure cost is negligible and covers that long top cut they have to make... see pics...

My original ship date was 3/5, then I got an email moving it to 3/7. I called Thursday the 8th and it still hadn't shipped. They told me it would go either the 9th or Monday the 12th.

Haven't received any shipping or tracking info yet.

Question for those that have their bumpers already:

The winch I am using came with a roller fairlead because I am using a steel wire rope instead of synthetic line. Do you think the cutout is big enough for a roller fairlead or should I go ahead and order the Warn hawse style cast steel fairlead?
