New weatherstrip for 1st Gen removable top

I cannot find the old threads so starting a new one.
Tags: top seal, top gasket, camper gasket, fiberglass top seal

I have my top off all summer. Old seal had shrunk and deteriorated. OEM is no longer made. I check with numerous dealers and could not find one. I found this substitute. Will report back if there are any issues. Has adhesive backing and bought from Pep Boys off the shelf.

New on top, old on bottom.

Please report back. I used some chinese crap I found on Amazon that seems to work but I don't have a lot of confidence and am 90% sure that the "3M" tape on it is bootleg.

be carefull with that .. it's to thick , you'll have issues with bolt hole linning up , and if they do , you'll break the fiberglass on the original top .

My holes lined up enough to start my hand. Ran them in with a 20V dewalt
One caveat, I let my top sit on the truck for several weeks untightened because I ran out of time.
