So i was looking at my dash the other day and really started to wonder why they never put white gauges in the runners, especially the limited. So i decided to just put some in and this is what i ended up with, think it looks alot better now, still have a few things to replace like the 4wd bulbs, and the key, but this is what i have so far.

ok before anyone attacks me for any of this, yes it is a little bit different, but every sinlge one i came across, for my 99, was setup for either a tacoma, or 98 and lower, and where way way off, this was the only one that would work, the only difference is that the 4wd indicator, is like that of a tacoma on the fuel gauge, where my limited is in the middle of the cluster and not on any gauge. So i just went for it, it works, it fits, and it still looks good.

hey i think that looks cool
mine is going to be flashy with lots of glow and sound and black and blue interior but the outside is all function
i got your back man haha :thumb3:

Hey man! I think it looks good! Definately not something everybody else is doing, that's for sure! There is nothing wrong with originality man! :trophy:

thanks for the replies guys means alot, and your right i gotta look at the interior when im in it, so i might as well be happy, lol. Just bugs the heck out of me that i couldnt find one that exactly matched, i even checked out burtman industries, and theirs look the same as mine, only difference, theres 90, mine 20, so until i find an exact match these are gonna work. thanks again guys.

I think it looks good! And you're right, you are the one that looks at your interior all the time, so you might as well make it the way you want it. :D

What stands out that is not like the OEM? Maybe it's too obvious for me to see the difference.

I really like it. Where did you buy it?

exactly right, i have to stare at the inside, as much as i would like to be able to see the outside, it would be kinda impossible, lol. 01KY4R i bought it off ebay, and like i said there are a few things that i was not really happy with, one was the 4wd indicator, and the other the check engine light doesnt line up if you keep your oem gauge in there, you have to remove it, the others you can just leave there, here is where i got them
ebay.com
toyota 1999-2002 4runner sr5 glow gauges
seller should be thejizmoshop

Your gauges look great and your exactly right, you have to look at your interior each time you get in.
Thanks for the pics as I have been on the fence about doing white face gauges and yours look good. One company called Speedhut does custom gauges although they are pricey but have alot of options for adding font, colors and logos.

The reason there wasn't white faced guages back then is because it wasn't the trend and very few if any car companies used the white face and the aftermarket was just catching on with them in the late '90s.

Thanks for clearing that up. I think they look great!

he is right only higher end cars really started using the white gauges, i just figured that it should have come with them, heck the 02 tacos had whites why not the 4runners, and steve speed hut was one of the places that i was looking at, would have loved to get a set of those, but after i was done doing what i wanted it would have been like 90 without shipping, maybe in the future when i have the money, but if you do, i say go for it man, they should look awesome.

I was thinking about these too since they look more like the stock gauges than any of the others. I went with some other ones and i think they look way too aftermarket. Kinda like some teen ricer. I wasn't sure how the blue glow looked on these. Do you have them on the blue or indigo green setting in the pic?
