New Wipers?

So tomorrow I want to go out and get some new wiper blades as the factory ones are pretty awful and leave a streak right in my eye-line which is not safe while driving through rain.

Can someone recommend a good brand to look into?

Also, what size or style blade do I need to get to fit into the factory holders?

If you go to Autozone or another car place they can tell you what size they are. I'm sure someone on here knows though.

I bought whatever they had at Autozone last summer I think, and they are ok.

Granted you still have the factory blades, you can go to the dealer and replace the rubber insert rather than changing the entire blade. It saves you money, AND you still maintain the superior OE wiping characteristics.

I find that the OE blade performs a lot better than the jobber ones you can get at your generic parts stores.

Agreed! The OEM are best. Although I have heard that PIAA is pretty good too. Make sure you have good spring tension on the arms and that the pivots don't have too much friction.
 
I need new blades for mine as well. They worked pretty good last month but quickly went bad. The one for the back window is in even more desperate shape.

I usually prefer OEM. They seem to last the longest most of the time and depending on the dealer can be competitively priced (sometimes) and they usually put them on for free.

One thing interesting I have observed is it seems back in the old days you only needed to get wiper blades once a year if that. Now days they seem to go to crap in very short period of time. If you get lucky you can get one season out of them. Not sure if its environmental or cheaper rubber formulations. Maybe a bit of both.
 
I'm not one for seemingly gimmicky ideas but those new Bosch Icons are exceeding expectations on my truck.

They are good wipers. I run Icons in the front and OEM replacement rubber blades in the back. Is it possibly to tighten up the spring that applies the pressure to the front wipers?
 
Went with the Rain-X wipers. I'll see how they shape up over the next few weeks. They weren't too expensive and anything will be an improvement over the stock blades. Hopefully they fix my streaking/skipping problems.
 
BOSCH ICONS FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best wiper blades hands down, and(im not sure if this is possible) they look so damn sexy!
 
Well this will teach me to not be impatient and just go out and buy whatever wipers I come across before hearing what ppl have to say in my thread. Guess I shoulda gone with the Bosch but as long as I have no problems with the Rain-X I'll be happy.
 
I have the rain-x wipers too.

I got them because they were cheap.

They're alright wipers but occasionally they streak and you'll have to wipe the rubber part and usually fixes it.

Maybe some of that rain-x stuff you put on the windshield to repell rain will help.

But I know for a fact next time I replace mine, I'm going with the flex blades that I have on my Mercedes.

Also known as the BOSCH Icons... haha.
