NewB Brake Question

Forenaftrunner

Just bought my first 4runner last week. Leftover 2008 SR5 V8. I got my wife a GX470 last year and loved it so much, I had to get the 4Runner for myself. Unbelievable deal on an 08 leftover. I almost feel guilty driving this truck based on what I paid.

My biggest complaint about the 4Runner so far is the headroom (or lack thereof). Other than that, I really am enjoying it. I hope the mileage gets a bit better (only 400 miles so far).

Anyway my question is about the brakes. I get a bit of steering wheel jiggle when braking at low speeds. I'm guessing the front rotors may not be true. I plan to call the dealer, but figured I'd ask you guys to see if this is a common issue on new 4Runner.

I have not had this type of problem with my new 08 SR5 2wd v6. It could be a tire problem as I can't see the rotors being bad so soon. Let us know what you find out.

I had a similar problem on my '00 3rd gen but after about 13,000 miles. There was a TSB on that. I bought an '08 leftover this past November and have about 5,000 miles (mostly highway) with no issues of that nature.

I'd have the dealer check it out. Whatever it is, they should take care of it at no charge.
