hi im new to the 4 runner world and we ll the good ol 22re finally took its last breath so i was wonderin has any one here dun a v8 or a inline 6 swap i have a manual transmission tht i will not give up since its 4x4 i wanna keep it tht way i was considering a iuz toyo v8 swap a good 351 ford or a supra inline 6 turbo swap any ideas critisim or advice in general would be apreciated thanks

The 5 or 7mge Supra swap is common, you can find plenty of info if you search.
GM 3.8 or 4.3 V6 and 350 V8 are pretty common swaps too.

im currently working on a supra 7m swap so far seams easy tho i havent started install just pulled motor and rebuilding but so far lots of right ups and i found a guy that i can email with any questions.

If you're set on keeping your current trans, then you want a motor that went in front of the W or R series transmissions. The 3rz 4cyl and 7mge inline 6 are really common swaps for that reason.

Or if you've got the coin, call up Advance Adapters and run about any motor you want.

iroke17 yea i had a friend in the process of doing tht same swap and well i was going of his way of thinking wit tht boost would make for a fun ride but he stopped mid way and went to jeep afer sellin the 4runner so im dead in the water.fourwd1 yup the chevy movement aint really doing it for me not to many manual options available thanks tho, o and kid vermicious i got my tranny out of a 91 3rz v6 so it could handle the power of a 7m in all honesty i can fab mounts for the motor and sit it in i got time for playing wit the fitment its just tht oil pan clearance and wiring got me a little of track hahaha u all are awesome thnks for the info

I'm using a w56 tranny from a 22re not sure if the v6 tranny fits but as for clearance you need a cressida pan and pump for the 7m to fit over the ifs suspension and wireing is actually vary simple
