I am new to the T4R Community. I purchased a 2006 T4R SR5 V6 4X4 about a week ago with 22kmi on the clock. I understand that I still have the remaining 3 year/36,000 warranty left. My question is, do you guys think it's worth it to buy an extended warranty? I have read a lot about people buying the Toyota Platinum warranty. Thanks a lot guys.

It all depends on how long you want to keep your truck. I bought the warranty the day I got my truck. I am planning on keeping it until at least 70,000 miles. It is all personal judgement on whether it is worth the money. If you are planning on keeping the truck much longer than 3 years of do a lot of driving, it is probably a good investment. It is also transferrable to the new owner when you sell the truck, which is nice. You get the prorated value of the warranty back. On the other hand, you are driving a Toyota so everything should last forever! :D

Thanks for the information. I have a 4 year loan on the vehicle and my build date is 2/06, so it looks like the basic warranty will end February of 2009. I plan on keeping it past that time, so I am sure I'll probably purchase the Platinum Warranty. I know that Toyotas are extremely reliable, but I have heard a lot about people's sunroof woes so I don't really want to risk anything. Thanks again for the response.
