I've recently purchased a 4Runner and joined T4R.

Been doing alot of reading and I always see people referring the 4Runner as "rig". Why is that?

you've never heard of a vehicle referred to as a "rig" before? what about "big rig"?

it's just slang. A lot of people will refer to their 4x4 as their "junk"

This is a term that used by most people especially with car lovers.
