Howdy folks. I just registered the other day in preparation of buying a 1st gen 4Runner. I am essentially looking for a competent trail (nothing too hairy) and camping rig that can tow a small pop up if necessary. I am leaning towards the 86-89 MY, but could be swayed since you all know way more than I do.
My attraction to the 1st gens is looks and the removable top. I have already been looking at the soft top options out there, which seems par the course for me. I tend to buy aftermarket stuff for cars that I haven't bought yet :beer:
Is there a FAQ of these that I can read, or do I need to ask a bunch of rookie questions before I buy one. What do I need to look for? Common problems? 1st gen specific stuff?
