Hi:

Newb here.

Shopping for a 2006-9 at the moment.

This place looks like fun.

Welcome! Just keep in mind these things to "keep it fun", hhahaha

1) Don't ask about what tire is best
2) Don't ask about whether or not to replace your XREAS (if you get one)
3) Don't ask about HID lights

But seriously though, the 2006-2009s are very nice. Tons of info here to do whatever mod you want. Good luck on your search!

Thanks, I've been on forums for years so I know the basics.

Makes sense that tires are "that topic" on here.

I used to own a Jeep but I had a stint with 3-series BMW's, sounds very similar to all the "Should I get angel eyes" threads I'm used to.

Already reading the V8 manifold tick thread..........

4) Don't ask which suspension is best or what lift to buy (if you're so inclined)
5) Don't ask about performance or mpg mods (unless you have a turbo, but don't ask about getting one)
6) No big wheels

Seriously though welcome to the forum but there are members here who love to make it less fun for new guys who don't search hard enough and don't have thick skin.

Let us know what you get and if you have any mods planned!

7) Don't ask if you should buy a V6 or a V8...

Can't believe nobody mentioned that one.

No desire for big wheels - don't worry.
I'm not going to LOWER it!!!!!!!!
I'm not going to ask what "aftermarket nav" is best
No plans for lift.

I'm genuinely trying to figure out what the difference between the Sport and the Limited is besides the wheel size and xreas being optional vs. standard as well as heated leather seats. Perhaps there is no other difference? Was it possible to buy a limited without navigation? if it wasn't then I'm SOL with that and I'll be looking for a Sport. Not a fan of factory navigation.

Besides from that ... I'm dead set on a V8 .... for a horrible reason too. Every time I hear a V8 with a nice exhaust setup I miss my V8 Grand Cherokee with my Flowmaster setup. It was just such a joy to fire up and drive. I'll tow with it eventually but not a priority right now.

Wow! That is a good one! (many have been banned on this topic)

anyway:

8) What maintenance should I do at xxx,xxx miles
9) Is synthetic oil really better, what kind to buy?
10) Does Santa Clause really exist?

Yes, you can find limited's without factory nav but they will definitely have the JBL sound system. If you're shopping years 2006-2009 the limited's also have two programmable seat memory buttons. You can read about the other differences here:
