Hey there. New to the whole Yota thing. I am not mechanical and I am female. Always have had jeeps but had a broken YJ and a guy wanted to trade me or his running 4Runner. Everything has worked so far. The motor sounds very weird to me and I think it has an exhaust leak... Have no idea what gen it is or what.. its a 91 SR5 with the V6, auto, all electric which all still works. paint is fine, ummm, any help on th engine woud be great.. the check engine light stays on but seems to run fine except for the burning oil smell(leaky head gasket):hiding:

Welcome and utilize the search function. You have a 2nd generation 4Runner and can find tons of great info on here that will help you immensely. Start with a search for 2nd gen motor (22RE or 3VZE) and go from there.

thanks... I am on a wrangler forum and its very similar set up... went to my mechanic yesterday and gonna take it to another one next week. I dont like how the engine sounds..
