Newbie & Air Filter Box question

Hi guys/gals,

I finally got another 3rd generation (2002 Limited 4wd) after totaling a '96, getting an FJ cruiser, FJ60, outback, I finally came back to one. I just got a set of 16" FJ Cruiser Off Road Package rims and will mount some Michelin LTX A/T2's this week.

The clips both snapped when I was checking the air filter. I'm sure the box is preventatively expensive and I used two bungies for a quick band aid. I searched and didn't find too many success stories. Anyone have a good fix?

So the metal clips themselves snapped or the plastic they bite on broke off? Either way, i don't see where they sell the clips alone - maybe someone else on here knows where. I think your idea or one where you can snug it up like with a rachet strap would work longer term. Or go to a junkyard?
