I'll start with the million dollar question, why is your user name Nissanclay on a Toyota forum..... Well, it's simple, It's been my screen name for as long as I can remember. My wheeler is a Nissan Frontier with a Hp d44, ARB's. 35's, 5.13's. 4:1 tcase and thats the short list lol.
Anyway, I'm not a stranger to 3rd gen 4runners. My parents own a 99. 5speed, factory locker that was purchased new. I did not have plans to purchase a 4runner as a DD but when a 98 with 140k came up for $900, I couldn't pass it up. It had front end damage and needed a new core support. I also took that time to change plugs, timing belt and water pump. Body wise, everything on the front end was replace except the fenders. I sourced a sport hood, some aftermarket 99+ headlights/corner lights, k&n intake, and some limited wheels with 265/75/16 goodyears.
Thanks to all the fine people on this site, I've also done the cup holder mod, 99+ radio trim, tundra breaks and tundra front struts/springs lift.
Looking to do some armor and source a factory locker. It will stay a DD so won't go much past where it sits now.
Thanks for all the great information on this site, I've looked to it for a lot of info already and I'm sure there will be more.
