Newbie question regarding leveling and Xreas

I want to level the front of my '04 V6 Sport Edition 4 Runner. From searching, it looks like Daystar is one of the most popular. What effect does this have on the Xreas and how do I know whether or not I have this? I bought this 4 Runner used.
Also, where is the cheapest place to buy the front spacers?

Welcome.

1st, the SE model does have the XREAS. You can see hydraulic lines running from the shocks. Non-XREAS don't have the lines. The XREAS will continue to work. The on-road handling will be not quite as good (minimal difference) just because the CG is higher. You probably won't even notice though.

As you shop seek out the old style kit that uses preload and top space rather than the super-cheap 1.25" thick single spacer that yields 2.5" of lift.

I don't know the cheapest place to buy.

I was leaning towards just the top spacer because of ease of installation and being able to keep the factory ride - my wife drives this thing daily. Any MAJOR drwabacks to just using the spacer? Also, anyone recommend the best place to buy?

Drawbacks & counter-points to top-space only:
1) A slight increase in the pre-load with a bit of top-space will stiffen the front just a hair which will help to compensate for the higher CG while cornering in theory. The extra stiffness in ride won't put the ride into the too stiff category, even for your wife

2) With just a top-space the wheel can drop (or extend) much farther than stock which could stress the balljoints a bit. I'd worry more about the over-extension than the ride quality. Perhaps my concern is unsubstantiated but it's yet another reason for the old-style kit.

Those are just my IMHOs. Maybe it's just fine...
