Newbie Question

Hi all,
I am new to the 4runner scene, and I've got a question.

I want to buy a 2nd gen runner with a 5speed, and I've come across the perfect truck on Craigslist, save for one issue… The engine is a blown 3.0 V6. Should I buy the 4runner for 1k and then have the engine swapped for a 22re, or just look for another one that is running fine.

If the motor is blown, try to get it for $500-$600 then do a 3.4 swap on it. Also, find out why the 3.0 is "blown", if it's just a head gasket, that's an easier fix than a motor swap... Or you could probably find one that's running that needs a little work for like $2000-$2500

Agree. The 22re swap wont be worth it.
