Newbie, think I got a decent deal on 02'

2002 TR4 Sport edition for $9000 w/86K miles. Purchased at Toyota dealership in metro detroit. One owner with 3 minor to no significant damage incidents to rear bumper, front bumper, and quarter panel on separate occasions. No structural damage reported. Truck is very clean. Surprisingly got 19.1mpg on the way home even with going 9.1 miles in 90 minutes at one point (reminder of why i will NEVER live down there lol). Anyway, it seems like a good deal and rode smooth the whole trip. Glad to be here!

Yes decent for the price

but like others said i don't like rust, might consider working on that & hopefully its only surface type. Leather? 4wd engage/disengage well? Got an external tranny cooler bypassing factory unit?

I'm partial to no running boards or "tubes". Would that be a DIY job? I'm moderately mechanically inclined. Done my own brakes, wheel bearings, alt, radiator, starter, etc.

That 4r in Cali would be a lot more than that... Difference is the lack of rust that we will have. Id get something on that rust ASAP, whichever way you chose and drive the wheels off of it!!! Mine has 260k on it and Im looking at a buddies Taco this weekend with 300k, LOVE the TOYOTAS!!!
