Hey Guys.

Just thought I'd introduce myself.
Name is Graham I live in Germantown TN. (Suburb of Memphis)
19 Years old and attending U. Memphis.
1st Car and I wouldnt change it for anything.
98 T4R Limited 2WD (Mostly Stock) 188,000 Mi
Any Cool Advice or anything simple and easy let me know.

Please tell me if :

1. Running Board Removal is worth doing? (Benifits, Pro, Con)
2. Spacers on a 2WD. Will it make it look LEVEL and maybe even higher off the ground? Price for this mod?
3. Cup Holder Mod. I really want to do this but I dont think I can.
4. Is there any good fix/replacement to the terrible wood grain on the dash in the 98 LTD. Also whats the price of this fix if there is any.

PS- The Recall has evidently already been done on my Runner-

the running board thing is definitely a personal thing, whether you like to look of it or not. some say it makes it look higher off the ground. i didnt use mine so off they went and they would get in the way of off roading.

you definitely could pre-runner your rig as in lifting it either with spacers or coils your call obviously cost will varry. P.S. i would do this if i had a 2wd

as for the wood trim you could strip it down and paint it im sure or you could buy new and used from the internet or something new other than the wood grain pattern i suppose.

Yea I guess ill try them off and if I dont like it I can always put them back on. and thank you for the link to the cup holder mod. I may try to tackle it. and also what do you think about the woodgrain painted black? and reccomended. spacers or coils? personally-
 
true that if you like the r-boards off you can keep it that way of stickem back on. i would paint the interior trim with whatever would go best with the rest of the car you could paint it silver if you have silver int. and black if you have oak int and so on and so on.

on the spacer thing i would go with spacers if you intend to stay on the road, but if you want to test the limits of your rig off road and want flex and prolly a better ride i would go with coils. but i have a 4wd that i use every weekend on some tough trails thats why i have OME coils and shocks for the abuse

X2 on the running board thing, just don't plan on doing any high speed gravel roads:D

Yeah if i had a 2wd (unlikely but.......) i would definitely do the prerunner thing, i dream of my runner looking like the demello fjc but a runner.

Funny story about the interior thing, when i was looking for a vehicle we test drove this one runner that had copper trim everywhere, kinda ugly, especially when the paint was chipping off in a lot of places. But i've seen interior trim kits on autoanything in like black, silver like the sport editions, and even carbon fiber which would look pretty nice. well that's my 2 cents.... good luck and welcome to the forum!

For the stickers, go to the "Gallery" forum and there's a sticky thread about stickers. On the last few pages there should be a link to a guy who is printing them using his own vinyl decal maker. That's where I got mine, good quality and quick shipping.
 
Welcome! i know what your talking about on the ugly, aged woodgrain trimming inside the 3rd Gen Runners. i took my trim off and im getting ready to paint it with Krylon Flat black or maybe gloss black. but im starting to grow on the original black trimming thats underneath the woodgrain. who knows i might keep it that way. well c ya.
 
Thanks for all the welcomes guys. I think I am going to go ahead with the krylon black flat. right after I finish my cup holder mod. I will be posting pictures up here soon. Thanks again for all your help and keep the suggestions coming I enjoy all the great ideas.
 
You might also want to look into the deckplate mod and ISR Removal mod, another would be replacing the interior lighting with LED's. At 188,000 miles you might want to check your throttle cable for any slack. If there is any tighten it up and you should notice a little improvement in throttle response.
