Newbie to the site but definitly not to Toyotas

Hey all I am a newbie here to this great forum. The past couple of days I had been going through the forum and reading many topics. I do not own a 4runner just yet but I am looking at a 2000 SR5 with many options right now and if that one falls through I am planning on trying to find a good 3rd gen. A little background about me is I am 26 with my wife due on thanksgiving with our first child. I graduated in 2003 from Pittsburg State University(in Pittsburg, KS) with a degree in automotive and then became a certified Toyota tech. I have never owned a Toyota truck/SUV. All of my vehicles have been 2 2nd gen camrys, 2 3rd gen celicas, 1 2nd gen celica, 1 6th gen celica, 1 AE86 and an 86 MR2. right now I have the 6th gen celica and the 86 MR2. My MR2 I am building to be an autox/road course car only. It currently has a 20V 4age silvertop in it but I want to p ut the 16V back in it to put me in a more competitive class. The celica I am going to be trading it when I get a 4runner. Also my father is a parts manager at a Toyota dealership and has been selling Toyota parts for 32 years so I have been around Toyotas my whole life. as for my plans with the 4runner I am not going to be doing much to it. It is going to be my daily driver and the vehicle I depend on. However, since I get a discount with TRD parts I do plan on at least putting on the TRD headers and exhaust and I would like to get some different wheels on it. Other then that things will probably stay stock...at least for a little while. I have never been known to leave things alone so I am sure I will end up doing more then that. Anyways thought I would stop and say hey.

Why do you say that? I am only two hours away from Pitt and a lot of people down here are too invovled about there stupid razorbacks to even know who the gorillas are.

Beleive me I wish I could get a 4th gen but I just don't have enough money to get one of those.

Precisely my point -- if you're wearing purple instead of red, then they will conclude that you're not supporting the Razorbacks.

Actually Pitts colors are Red and Yellow(they call it Crimson and gold). Pitts high school is purple but I don't support there high school there since I went to high school in Kansas city. Plus I am alos a huge Kansas Jayhawks fan and since Kstate is a rival of ours and they wear purple I wouldn't be caught dead wearing purple. I do wear KU or Pitt shirts all the time and I hear people make comments behind my back all the time but honestly I don't care.

Then my memory must be failing worse than I thought!! I played at a customer's charity golf tournament up there in 1991 and I could have sworn all the colors I saw were purple. But I know it was in Pittsburg....and it poured so hard that the first day of the tournament was rained out and the second day we played with puddles everywhere.
