Newest, most important mod yet! Humor inside..... Stop on in here!
Alright friends, as a lot of you that know me also know that we have a baby due in just over a month. We actually got a scare when the wifes blood pressure spiked 2 days ago. We spent the last 2 days in the hospital and now shes on bed rest (all is great now) so we thought it would be a good time to throw the car seats in my 4runner and her 2010 Ford Fusion just in case. I know a lot of you guys are in your late 20's to early 30's like we are and baby time is upon you. So I decided to make a quick easy how-to on how to install a child seat since it is a easy process that is super freaking confusing if you've never done it before.
Tools needed: A good friend for moral support (in my case it was my buddy Zack, he goes by HuskerZ on this forum), a cold beverage of choice (mine was bud light) and a new car seat.
Step one, unpack said car seat, this is the easiest step after dropping anywhere from $100 to $300 at your local babies-R-us or Target.
Side note: My wife registered for pink and black ones.....as soon as UPS dropped it off I went to my local Babies-R-us and exchanged it for a black and green one. Bear Grylls would approve......
Side note 2: I don't have a picture of this step because A: if you can read you can unpack a goddamn box, and B: If you need me to show you how to unpack a box you shouldnt be reproducing anyway.

Step 2: Take an unmolested 2006 4runner interior and grab the base thingy out of the box. This is the base to our seat, we got the removable one beacause it would be a pain in the ass otherwise. Put it in the car where you want to, they say the middle seat is best but I opted for the passenger side location because I frequently have my bunker gear for work in the back seat and there wouldn't be room with a fire helmet etc with the seat in the middle.
Step 3: Once you locate the car seat anchors you use the strap that comes with the base and install the metal clips on the strap onto the clips that are attached to the seat. I didnt take a pic of this either but its super easy. Once you have this clipped on kneel on the base and cinch the strap down as tight as possible. I did take pics of the mounting points though.
Step 4: Mount the seat on the base and enjoy! IT really is easy and I couldnt find anything on this site showing how to mount it.
And there you have it. If you don't want to do this mod I have a couple suggestions, you can either A: pull out, not 100 percent safe but hey who doesnt like to gamble, or B: wrap your tool.
