Hate to see the Leafs out but it was expected. I am just glad they proved so many people wrong. 5 out of 6 games in OT against the #1 team and all of those OT losses were probably games they should have won including game 6. Going to be exciting to watch them mature over the next few years under Babcock's watch.
I will probably pull for the Pens here on out. I've always liked the Pens and the bonus of them winning is the cup comes to Halifax this summer with Crosby. What's cool about the local NHL guys (Crosby, Brad Marchand, Nathan MacKinnon) is they come home every summer and hold practices with all kinds of NHL players. Usually those who are on top of things get a chance to watch them skate and kind of hang out. That and it's just neat to see them around.

I guess I am rooting for the Blues or the Sens.
The NHL got their wet dream come true... Caps VS Pens... Crosby VS Ovechkin... I guess none of the other teams matter anymore... They might as well just make that the cup final...
If the Blues and Sens get knocked out. I am going for the Preds or Rangers. I do not really care for the Ducks or Oilers.
I would be ok if the Caps got their first cup. That would be pretty cool, Anyone but Pittsburgh really...

Yeah. I wouldn't mind seeing Ovi have a chance at the cup. I was never a huge fan of his and always liked Crosby over him but I like his game. He doesn't get into nonsense and you don't see him make dirty plays. He's just a hardworking clean player in my opinion. You really have to respect that. I will still pull for the Pens but there is a soft spot in there for Ovi for sure and part of me wants to see him win. Not very excited about Kusnetsov though.

Agreed. One of the reasons I like the format of NHL playoffs. Can get some really good playoff rivalries. My good friend is a huge Caps fan, so we've been going back and forth a lot over the past few days. Don't tell him, but I've slowly become an Ovetchkin fan over the course of this season. He is really good. If the Pens don't win this series, I'm rooting for him and the Caps.

I don't think the Niskanen hit was intentional to the head. Looks pretty bad in slo-mo, but at real speed, not sure he could have changed hitting him once he decided to hit him. Maybe he could have let up when Crosby started to go down, but that would have been a pretty quick reaction. I do think the slash from Ovy just before the hit was the bad one.
Yeah, Nashville definitely looks like the real deal. Especially the way they took it to the Blackhawks. Right now they've got all the things going for a team that you need to win a cup.

Big game 7 today! Heard some interesting stats last night. Caps 3-7 at home in game 7's. Pens are 5-0 on the road in game 7's. Seems ripe for the Caps to change the narrative, but I sure hope not! However, if the Pens play anything like they did over the past 4 periods, they don't stand a chance.

Go Preds!! Nashville fan checking in here. I used to go to quite a few Preds games when we lived in Nashville. Would love to see them make the Stanley Cup Final. Love the way these guys are playing right now.
