As it sits now (11/2018)

Sold my '98 Toyota Avalon in pristine mechanical condition w/150k, wanted something with better fuel economy and began looking at new sedans.

While looking I stumbled on a random SUV that said Toyota, took it for a test drive just for the heck and fell in love. Purchased it July, 2014.

Took it home and spent a couple months enjoying it before the mod bug started to hit.

It started small with plastidip

And was followed quickly by a new sound system. After the JBL sound system with a sub in my Avalon, the stock sound was significantly lacking. JBL speakers, Rockford Fosgate amp and sub

And then it got cold (and by cold I mean below 60 F° :wave: ), and I missed my bun toaster and I installed seat heaters

Next came the Christmas mod

More recently came the lift install. Bilstien 5100s and OME 884 springs. Couldn't decide what springs on the back, so I went with a spacer until I decide.

Nice build! Im waiting on my bilstein 5100's and spacers. Except im cheaping out for now and keeping with stock springs and adding 1/4" spacers on the front and 2" spacers in the rear to have a 3/2 lift. Hows it ride?

Picked up the springs used for $40, cheaper than a spacer :D

The ride is good overall. Firmer than stock but not rough.

I hoping to get new control arms (Upper and Lower) in the next week or two, that should help make the ride super smooth. Have an appointment Tueday with my mechanic to see if the my warranty will cover it all. Boots are torn on all the front joints, a small squeak is developing so I'm hoping they'll cover it.

Debating between Camburg or TC UCAs if they cover :roll:
 
Yea ill eventually go springs only. And the theres a thread about the a set of control arms being offered that look identical to the TC uca's im waiting to see how they hold up on others before i pick up a set. Hope your warranty works in your favor though. That would be sweet! GL [emoji1360]

Thanks, yeah. I saw the thread about the ebay ones, but I'd rather get a mechanic to do it for free than having to press my own bushings in. If the warranty doesn't work out, I may end up going that route.

UCA balljoints are borderline, may not need replacement.

LCA bushings look shot (to me), boots on the LCA BJs are pretty messed up and I wouldn't be surprised if the shop recommends replacement of the arms. Long as they don't blame my lift, it should be covered. I'll work with the shop to make sure they don't blame my lift, boots were already torn when I installed my lift and I ignored it at the time.
 
Beautiful build. But hey, do you have the link for the rear window seal? Can I buy other trim seals? How easy is it to install that kind of stuff

Update:
Swapped my Falken Wildpeak AT3W 265/70/17 for a set in LT285/70/17

Pending longevity, I can highly recommend the Falken's so far. Super quiet and excellent traction in all enviorments. Snow traction was adaquate for not being a dedicated snow tire. Little change in noise from P rated to E rated 285s

Got and installed my Prinsu rack. Initial impressions are good quality with a well thought out design. All the rails are super adjustable as far as placements and tons of places to mount w/out drilling through rails. Biggest downside is flat rails instead of round which means universal mounts may require modifications. Fairly quite, but did notice some extra noise in heavy crosswinds. Also, apparently I need to find a new hosting soultion, all my original photos disappeared :|

Thank you! I really like the low profile look of it. Something I didn't think about is my sunroof. I'm still not used to having it since my white one didn't come with one. Wondering if they are suitable for the sport model.

Racks are interchangeable between sport/non-sport. So yes, good fit :)

Rack looks great! Good to hear the wind noise is minimal... you almost have to expect some change from factory. Is it noticeable with the sunroof slide closed?

Also can't go wrong with flickr... had my photos hosted there since like 2010 and haven't ever had an issue. You can also export to flickr directly from Adobe Lightroom which is awesome. (not sure what you use for editing pics...)

I usually post un-edited or use GIMP. I finally bought a DSLR though and am looking for some better editing software. Likely will end up with lightroom

I didn't really notice wind noise with it closed, but that isn't conclusive yet. It was raining pretty hard on my morning commute and I never went above 50 mph (Thanks Seattle traffic :ybrick: ) I'll update my review once I can test on the fwy above 60 mph both open/shut. Noise is going to go up once I start loading it up... :/ I am also going to cut the faring and add a small singlerow lightbar there, I'll be getting noise there too I expect
