Incorrect, think of it as something that's more like an upgraded terra grappler. So something that guns for the Duratrac, i.e an A/T that has characteristics of the Terra but not a full on mud-tire.

I believe that's the Exo Grappler. They came out last year I think.

I keep struggling to see where these would be a good tire choice. Overland travel?

In my experience large sold tread blocks with limited siping are not great on any surface. These feel a lot like a new version of this to me - looks kinda offroad-ish, doesn't perform well on anything:

I see them as a more aggressive Terra Grappler, so something that is maybe a bit better weighted towards non-mud terrain but still having a really aggressive sidewall. Might be nice for people who don't need the full weight and aspects of an M/T

Good god I remember those garbage tires. Rattle your teeth out.

As far as the new Nittos, I think they're going after the success of the DuraTracs. Not quite all-terrain not quite mud.

I agree they are going for that inbetween market. I'm just not sure this tread pattern is a good one. If you're not going to have big voids, make a lot of small ones. Not that a groover couldn't make them a whole lot better.

I tend to think Atturo actually has one of the most promising patterns.
