Nitto Rubbing Issues

I just got a set of 265/70/17 Terra Grapplers installed on my unlifted SE (Daystar 2.5 waitin' to get installed). Well from all the threads I've read it was said that the only tire that really gave any problems with rubbing was the BFG A/T due to square edges and big lugs.

I currently have an issue with rubbing when I am backing up and turning at any angle to the right and was wondering if anyone else with TGs can chime in with a similar experience? It was dark out tonight so couldn't really see what was going on but gonna get under it to see if I can tell what's rubbing.

Other than that the tires have been phenomenal but this sucks! :cry2:

I just put those same tires on my stock '07 SR5 a few weeks ago and haven't noticed any rubbing...? Now you got me paranoid. Guess I should look into this...

What rims? I've got them on an 04 Sport with stock rims and a 2" front spacer lift and there is no rubbing at all.

did u get an alignment with the new tires or u waiting till u get the lift? either way, u could just move the inner fender forward. if u have wheel spacers the fender may need trimming also.

I did not get an alignment, it doesn't need one so I'm going to wait until I get my lift on to do that. From what I can see and it looks like it's minor but the left side of the tire is rubbing on a cover to some fluid line. I couldn't get a picture but i'm working on it.

Mine rubbed in the same scenario with a 1" spacer and FJ suspension (stock wheels). I then added the daystar 2.5/1.5 with the FJ suspension and it no longer rubbed. THEN I added FJ wheels into the mix and the different offset has caused them to rub again. Only when backing up and cutting the wheel.

Alignments have been done a few times in there, and they never seemed to effect much.

no issues with rubbing on mine.. let it rub til you put the lift on. or dont turn so sharp.

Mine rub sometimes with the FJ Cruiser wheels and stock suspension. I am not concerned one bit.

I have no lift and BFG's. They rub on full lock - mostly on left turns.

Big deal - it is minor and nothing to worry about.

Yeah I'm hoping my lift will solve the problems as it is very minor, just gotta get around to actually getting it installed.
