Nitto Terra Grapplers vs Toyo OC A/T

Looking for opinions between these two tires for my 2000 SR5 4R. They look very similar in tread pattern but I haven't heard much about the Toyos. The cost I'm looking at is almost the same; only $10 total overall more for the Toyo. I heard great things about the Nittos and am leaning that way but ...just when you think you got your mind made up about which tires to get, somebody has to go and throw that proverbial wrench into the mix..:bash:

i've posted in many threads about my experiences with the toyos. I like the way they ride and for the price I couldnt be any happier. I've also heard good things about the Nitto's too..you cant go wrong with either...
 
same shit. Both tires are fraternal twins...slightly different thread design, otherwise same. I forgot who owns what, but Toyo owns Nitto i believe (or the other way around). Thus, you can't go wrong with either because they are essentially the same tire.

i just put new nitto's on a couple days ago and i love them so far. i got them off road yesterday for work and they were a dream. great on and off the road. very little increase in noise. really changes the look, much beefier. so far no complaints from me.
 
Just found out that Nittos are back-ordered here,,,guess it will have to be the Toyos. Hopefully they will be a wise choice...

Where do you live? I just ordered a Nitto for my spare and it came in under 12 hours.
 
Local guys had to order them since they dont carry them in stock and the supply place only had 2 in stock...Said they would have to get the remaining 2 from Fresno area but would cost me extra to truck those here so I went with the Toyos. In looking at the web sites, the tires look very similar.

I did decide to go with a 6 ply or C load range instead of the D like on the Nittos. In reading some of the other threads here it seemed the C range was recommended. I've got some Remington AW on there now in D so we will see how the ride changes....hopefully in the right direction...
 
Happy to report that the Toyos are on the 4R and look really good. Initial reaction (after a whopping 3 miles) is that they ride smooth, turning is controlled, noise very low and track just fine. So far I'm hapy with the choice...even though I'll still be thinking about those Nittos...

Any body running the Toyos have suggestions on tire pressure for the LT 265/75/16 load C size???

Just keep in mind...Toyo and Nittos are the same!

As for tire pressure, i would stick with what Toyota recommends or use 35 psi (which is a safe psi for most tires in your size). For me, i stick to OEM recommendations.
