You will regret those tires when you replace them in less than 40,000 miles. Worst tires I have ever ran.

I have 42,000 miles on mine since I put them on the 4runner 3years ago and have almost 38,000 miles on the F-150 2 years ago and they both have plenty more life left.

they wear terrible and sub par traction. mine wore down in 20,000 miles on my 2500HD and they were to the core. got more than double those miles out of mud tires

Were they 112s or higher than 121? I ask because when bought for the F150 they asked if I hauled or towed a lot. If I did that would have put he into the 121 and up tire depending on weight load.

112 vs 121? not sure what you mean. and yes i towed often with that truck, but its no excuse when a MUD tire gets better mileage than an all terrain. my BFG T/A KM2's put the Nitto Terra Grapplers to shame in every category except on wet pavement.
Even the best tire isn't the best tire for EVERY application. The Terra Grapplers, especially in P-metric, are very soft, which is part of the reason they ride so smoothly for an AT tire, but they are prone to wearing quickly too. This can be minimized with regular rotations and modifications to your driving style (i'm having to, I tend to launch from a stop and that's a sure way to burn these out quickly...)
Just because you had a poor experience with them on your vehicle doesn't automatically mean they're a poor choice for any vehicle.

Yes I agree, but if you use the 112's on a heavy truck they are going to wear out very quick because they are not rated for the weight. 121 and up are rated for a higher weight and should hold up for more than what he got out of his. Sometimes sales people will try and help you save money not realizing they are costing you more in the end.
I had Terra Grappler 305x70x17 on my V8 4R for 45,000 miles and did many trails including slickrock (Moab) and rock crawling (John Bull) and despite a poor wear pattern due to alignment, they still had another 10,000 min on them. I have 315 MTR's now and they are much louder but do grab offroad better. Not so good on road tho!
Agreed, but any reputable tire shop should know not to put a P rated on a 2500. Or should at least warn the customer about the potential issues and let the customer make their own decision.

I still have no idea was a 112 or 212 tire is. They're we're LT265's and they were absolutely horrid, I only bought them because they were cheap am it was a mistake.
My mom even had a set on her 2002 jeep and they delivered the same lackluster performance and I'm not the only one that dislikes them. Many people agree they wear like garbage but people keep buying them because of the Nitto name and cheap price.
I don't care how you cut it, no all terrain should wear out faster than a mud terrain.

I had terra grapplers on my Silverado and they wore great.
Did you throw that in there just to irritate the other guy?
What it comes down to is not every person will have a great experience with every tire every time. Find what works on your vehicle and meets your needs.

When you look at a tire size # it is followed by a Service Description # it identifies the tire's Load Index and Speed Rating. That number is what you need to look at when deciding which tire best fits your needs reguardless of the name.
I have a friend who was big into a certain tire and he sold me 4 eledorado ZTR Sport tires and those things wore very poorly, I come to find out the 4 I got were for a 2500 and up load weight and my 4runner never worked the tire to get even wear which resulted in a poor experience for me, but that does not mean the tire is junk.
I learned this the hard way and like to help other not make the same mistake as I did.

load index was E and speed rating was Q no such numbers as far as i recall.
rebelbowtie, trust me I did my homework on tires and for my needs this is perfect product. If I wanted something that lasts forever I'd get this:
I wonder what sizes these would be; albeit I'm sure that they would rub (at least in reverse at full turn) unless you had quite the lift.
I like those coils; I'm guessing they could support some extra weight (but probably not as stiff as OMEs).
