Without 4Runner available and no full size Montero(Pajero) on US market I'll be driving 4x4 Tundra. I had 3 Monteros and now on my forth 4Runner, so switch to the pickup truck will be a new twist in my driving life, but I cannot afford LC or Geländewagen and within my price range Tundra will be just fine, lol

Easy — LX 570. Especially the 2016.

Maybe Sequoia (if only Toyota would update the damn thing.)

Landy Defender (if only we could get one.)

For me it's not the case of what if 4R didn't exist, my next car is definitely an LC, as new as I can afford. Even the WIFE is on board with this one.

I had the pleasure of driving a 70 series at work a decade ago along side my MQ Patrol. That's what lead me to 4R (150 series) and the 62. To me an LC is the only way to go after 4R (or if 4R wasn't available).

I need the cargo space for dogs. Those pregnant-rollerskate-wanna be-unibody-SUVs with the sloped back won't cut it..... Tacoma is too small (dogs ride in the cab), Tundra is too big, Sequoia... meh... A used LC would probably fit the bill.

I'd probably own a Chevy Colorado diesel or a used 5.9L Dodge Cummins truck. I love my 4runner, but the more I drive it, the more I realize that a gasoline engine isn't suited to my needs and driving habits.

Also, this 4runner is decent on cargo capabilities, but does make me appreciate just how much space my 100lb German Shepherd takes up. I need a pickup bed to either store the dog or store the gear, because storing both in the same place is a PITA, though doable.

I wanted to say a Tahoe... I drove a 2015 on a lark the other day. It was nice and all but $56K for a 4WD LT that does not even include navigation is hard to comprehend. I wanted to love it but just adding Navigation and the z71 pack put the sticker up at $60K.

Drove a new ford explorer sport. I didn't care for a lot of things inside but that 3.5 turbo is an excellent engine. If only Toyota would offer something comparable.

In the end I would probably end up with a 6 Cyl. Subaru outback and an older Jeep Wrangler.

I'm getting truck woodies with all those LC postings.

In October 2012 I was tired of trying to find a Trail in Chicagoland (something like trying to find a TRD Pro now), I was all set to buy a red Xterra Pro-4X in Naperville, did one last search on cars.com and a 2013 silver trail pops up at a dealer between work and home.

If mine got totaled, I would have to check out the new Highlander or RAV4, for seating for five.

So the TLDR was an Xterra.

so, used 200 series LC or Ram Power Wagon. both of them built to the hilt

Traded an '04 Tacoma for the 2012 SR5 4runner. Had 5 Toyota trucks 3 Tacomas so another Tacoma would have been a no brainer for me although I'd probably just have kept my '04 since it was pretty solid. Not that wild about the new 2016 Tacoma's so might have considered a Tundra if buying now and no 4runners available.
