No Heat on Passenger Side

I have a 2005 LTD 4runner and have run into this same issue as well.
On a cold winter day the driver side would have good heat but the passenger side was like the air conditioning was on(freezing cold).
I replaced the actuator (recommended by an idiot mechanic who didn't look very far into the problem) and ensured the heat flow door was moving as it should ($550 later)....Still no heat on Passenger side.
It turned out to be a serious calcium build up/blockage in the heater core.
Easy fix;
I Clamped both incoming and outgoing rubber coolant lines to the heater core.
Removed the lines from the heater core, draining coolant into a tray below.
Plugged the bottom metal exit pipe on the heater core.
Filled the heater core with CLR.
I attached a vibrating mechanism(LOL) to the heater core pipes to speed up the loosening of the calcium. (yup, wife is pissed lol)
Let the CLR sit over night (while I made it up to the wife)
Drained it the next day, flushed it thoroughly with water.
Reconnected coolant lines, ensured coolant was topped up
Voila, the heat on the passenger side was improved by at least 80%!!!
To avoid this issue in the future, ensure you drain out and replace yer engine coolant fluid, your new replacement coolant should be mixed using "Distilled water", not regular tap water.
Hope this works as well for you as it did for me.

Nice to know I don't have to create a new thread but I'm having the same issue but I'm pretty sure it's control based on mine. Short version - one of my circuit boards (lie-o-meter panel) fried and I replaced with one from a SR5. Since I have a Limited I lost the dual controls which may be the cause but hoping someone can be a bit more accurate than I'm guessing.

I had this problem when I bought an 04 limited from my son who said it just started. When you turn the key on you would hear a roar from the glove compartment/center dash area for about 15 seconds or so. No heat on passenger side. This great forum led me to the servo that controls the blend damper on the passenger side. All I did was lube the that linkage to the damper. When I drove I would cycle the temp hi to low to cycle the damper. After a few weeks the noise at start up stopped and the passenger side was blowing hot air. No problems since. I'm retired and was in no hurry to tear into the servo. Might be worth a try.
Mine's fine now and it was as I hoped after giving it a bit of thought. Since I replaced my HVAC controls with a fried circuit with a good one from an SR5 I put the old one back in, turned off the dual control, put my new one back in and all's well.
Apparently I guessed right that the SR5 unit ignores the Limited dual control circuit. With it off everything works as intended and my Limited is another step closer to a SR5 since I already replaced the failed nav unit with a non-nav radio.
