Why save for an engagement ring when you can buy more toys?

Girlfriend does not approve of this second car of mine, but couldn't pass it up. It is my second MR2. First one was in high school 1992 Red MR2,

Nice! ... I was looking for a decent deal price vs condition on an SW20 a couple weeks ago when I drove a MKIII on a whim. Now I have a MKI and MKIII to help keep the 4Runner company.

How can you have a bad day when your first decision is deciding between driving the 4Runner or MR2 for the day?

Agreed. MR2 and 4Runner are great options, loving it so far. No power steering does take some time to get used to.

Depending, its really not a locker. Us draggers like LSD and welded diffs. I had a LSD with an upgraded 4 spider gear diff in my talon. I could get 0-60 foot times off of a launch in about 1.45 seconds. Think of that. You could be standing 60' in front of my car and I would hit you in 1.45 seconds off of the launch. Now thats just crazy. LOL

To the OP nice car. When I was in high school I loved them. My wife thinks anything made in the 90's are the worst cars in the world. Im still stuck in the past and love em.

NO! lol ... I have a MKIII Supra to complete my collection. Both the AW11 and MA70 are huge projects and I think the MR2 is going to get sold/parted to bring me down to only 3 money pits. okay well 2 money pits and a 4Runner than just requires enough maintenance to keep up with my demands.

That's funny because I hate almost anything that came out much past the 2000 year mark. The newer it is the cheaper it seems to be built. What does she think is a good vehicle?

MR2's are pretty cool, i like that body style better than the latter ones. and your GF is right, majority of passenger cars in the 90s were terrible. niche cars and trucks though were still solid throughout the 90s though.

I guess I could have also tried:

- how are you going to mount a winch on that?
- going to mount up some 35"s?
- what, no 4LO ?
- needs more lift
- what are the approach/departure angles on that model?
