Hello All,
If you are an electrical auto sleuth this may be an interesting case. Here are the details.
• Type 2000 4Runner base
• Starter button wired to the relay switch connectors; in operation over 5yrs in this configuration
• Starter button wires were not taped and during panel removal contacts touched body or other component behind center console ashtray while ignition on
• Radio, AC blower went out immediately
• Turned key to shut off, removed key (key ring light on and open door indicator and chimes working, all external lights working); tried to restart
• On restart attempt saw no start diagnostic indicator lights on dash only the door open indicator, no fan blower just silence
• Checked fuses and found 7.5 A STA out, all others in and under hood were OK.
• Replaced STA fuse and tried again and again with no change in result; found same fuse blown again
• Checked voltage on battery, it was ok, also checked voltage to starter relay connector (pole 3 I think) and it had about 6.5 V coming to it. No voltage across poles 2 and 4 to starter solenoid
• I will be checking relays next however have bad feeling it is ECM given how many things impacted
Any ideas on what may have gone out from info above? Mysterious hidden fuses or relays I may have missed? Bounce back with any helpful comments.

My guess is that i will need to backtrack to common source for all components affected
