No RSCA on 4x4 = ?

Looking at a 06' SR5 4x4
It has the dif lockout button but no RSCA off button.
Does that mean it doesn't have side curtain airbags?

It's a V8 if that matters.

Sorry if this has been covered a hundred times... I couldn't find anything.

Edit: 06, didnt see. You most likely do have side curtain airbags.

So does that mean if I go wheeling and things get tippy, the air bags will deploy?


Is this something I could find by running the VIN?

On the A pillar cover, do you have a stamping that says SRS / Airbag on it? I think it was an option and most likely that you don't have it.

I believe there is also a "tab" on the side of the seat that indicates whether you have the RSCA.

Not all 4runners had RSCA. IIRC it was an option. My '07 SR5 V6 does not have them.

My '06 V8 SR5 has RSCA and power front seats which I recall hearing was standard on the 06' + SR5 V8s. I guess that information wasn't very accurate...

I have an 06 SR5 with RSCA button on the side, and Side curtain airbags stamped on the pillars.

Ok, thanks guys. I wasn't aware the side curtain's were an option, but that certainly makes more sense as to why the button isn't there.

I haven't seen the truck in person yet, so i'm not sure on the pillars. Still trying to find the right truck for me.
I guess I just need to decide how important it is to have the extra safety feature.
