No running boards & Daystar 2.5/1.5

So, I spent some time yesterday taking off my running boards. This turned out to be an extremely easy job (seriously a monkey with 1 eye and 1 arm could do it). With that said, I was a bit hesitant to remove them because I wasn't sure how they would look with the leveling kit installed, so, I decided is put up a few pics for anyone else who may also be trapped in my predicament too!

As you can see by the pictures, removing the running boards gives it the appearance that is slightly higher than it actually is. All this took to do was a torque wrench (I think I used the 1/2 bolt remover) a little bit of time and elbow grease! Easy as that! Let me know what you think.

Ps - if you do any type of off-roading prior to the removal I recommend getting some cheap sunglasses or clear coat glasses to stop dirt from falling in your eyes cause I noticed my bolts had a lot of dirt on them!

Pss - I used and extender on my torque wrench, and I used 2 extenders whilst removing the bottom front screw, since it's wedged in there tightly! It's probably a good idea to have this around!

Maybe he means impact wrench. Took me all of 30 seconds to remove mine and no energy was expended on my end.

Buckles I had to use the Torque wrench to kind of get the first tug cause it was screwed in a bit tight after that first tug I could just twist it off!
wnelax04sr5 it Is haha in no great with terms and all but I meant socket!
marc_l71 by clear glasses I just meant something protective you would get with like a pellet gun just something lying around! But thanks I know a lot about automotive and mechanics for my age and can rip things apart and do most work myself just not fond with terms other than parts on the car!
zopperman glad to know that now haha unfortunately my family isn't really the handy type so I had to use what I could find since we don't really have a tool box with the right tools!

I just make do with what I can ya know

Do yourself a favor and never use a torque wrench to loosen bolts again unless you were planning on buying another. That's a good way to throw a torque wrench out of calibration. Just trying to help you out, looks good.

good for you for working on it, it makes the experience of having your own vehicle that much better

You just convinced me to take mine off. Thanks for the quality pictures.

How did the installation of your Daystar kit go? I'm thinking about buying one sometime this summer and I'm pretty curious about how easy/difficult it would be for an average joe like me to install.

It wasn't extremely difficult! It was the first thing I had ever done to a car so I was sort of in the blue on how that would go but it turned out really well! There's lots of build threads around that you can check out that give you step by step tutorials! Atleast that's what I did! I wouldn't think you would have a problem with it! Only thing I had to do was borrow some tools from my friend! I'd say go for it!
