No spare tire - WTH?

So I bought my 4R SR5 ('00) yesterday, and, yes I made the assumption it was under the rear mat after having looked underneath, there's no freakin spare tire! Now, I was pre-occupied w/ the fact that the frame is in exceptional condition, so - I was 'legitametly' distracted IMHO, but still I'm in a fix - suggestions?

Any local wrecking yard should be able to sell you a spare rim for under 80 bucks.

Stealership - I've bought several vehicles there though without incident, they may have missed it making the same assumption I did, in their defense.

Since you bought it at a dealership, go back and ask for one. Sounds like you're a regular there so shouldn't be much of a hassle.

If they won't do it go to a used tire place. Thats what I did to my spare after I upgraded to larger tires. Cost $40 for tire (i already had the wheel).

While you're at it, might want to check to make sure you've got a jack, jack handle and lug wrench, too. : Look under right side of the back seat, all 3 pieces should be in there.

Back in 1999 I bought a NEW Ford Ranger and discovered a month or so later that there was no jack handle. I went back to the dealership and they said "no problem" - they just went to another NEW truck and pulled the jack handle out of that one and gave it to me. (meaning of course that they just took my problem and passed it on to the next guy to buy a new truck from them.)

Or maybe they ordered a new one and replaced the one they gave you. Hey it's possible lol.

Same thing happened to me, but it was stolen from the dealership along with a bunch of other stuff.
