Typically a loose belt will squeal at idle and go away with higher rpms. Late oil change won't affect anything unless you run it dry..

2016 trail edition humming?
Hi all
We just purchased a 2016 4r, with approximately 35k km. A week after picking it up from the dealership it started making a slight grinding/humming noise from the front end. More noticeable at the front passenger side.
Slight vibrations can be occasionally felt in the floor and steering wheel. It all usually when it's -10°c and starts from 40km/h upward of 100km/h when it became a part of the road noises.
When braking it could be heard quite well. At first I thought it was a loose rubber flap or something but I found absolutely NOTHING.
We brought it to the dealership Crown Toyota in Winnipeg.. but as it usually happens, the temperature was only -5 and truck was quite as a mouse.. 5 test drives and nothing.
Nowadays, just past a month of ownership, the humming seems to happen whenever. It's not at all consistent. Service manager assured us that they have a record of the issue and if anything were to break we won't be left on ice as well as we will be made aware if any tsb's come up..
But does anyone know what this could be???

2019 TRD ORP 4.0L/2GR-FE, 1500 miles on the odo, stock, except running 265/70/17 dedicated winter tires at 36 psi. I do have the factory roof rack rails, but do not have the cross bars. I also have the sun/moon roof. I do not have running boards. I do not have the sliding rear cargo tray either.
Typically the clunk/rattle I hear comes from driving down a resurfaced paved road about 45mph and drive over a "sunken" manhole cover. Minor bumps, cracks in the road, whoop-dee-doos on any road at any speed do not cause this sound. Starting or stopping, even hard stopping, do not cause this sound to be heard. The sound is what you might expect if the rear lift gate isn't shut properly, but only at larger than minor bumps, except speed bumps at 5-10 mph do not cause the sound either.
From the drivers seat the sound appears to come from inside either the rear lift gate or left or right rear as the sound isn't always appearing to come from a single spatial area. I think this is normal since vehicles are notorious for fooling us drivers as to where noise is coming from.
I have both rear seats in the folded down position (I do not have 3rd row seating) to help identify sound location but that hasn't helped.
I checked the hydraulic lift and tool bag in the driver side rear panel and everything appears to be secured. The spare tire doesn't budge. The rear lift gate is solidly closed. The only thing in the rear cargo area is a tarp held down by a cargo net.
I'd rather spend my time fixing this than taking it to a dealer for some unknown amount of time with unknown results, even as it's under factory warranty.
Any ideas on what to look for next? Does this sound like an improperly greased slip yoke? Perhaps I need to get under the vehicle and re-torque sway bar end links and suspension stuff?

Answering my own issue.
While the tool bag in the drivers side rear panel was secured by the OEM straps, I took the items out from the tool bag and wrapped each side's set of items in microfiber towels so that no metal was touching another piece of metal. I wrapped the tool bag back up and secured it back in place.
That seems to have alleviated my clunk/rattle.

-The noise sounds like an electrical buzzing right after turning off the car or switching the ignition to off from "ACC". The buzzing lasts for about 1 minute right after turning the car off. The sound is really subtle and may only be heard in quiet areas (inside garage).
It's not a big deal, but just curious what it is. Never heard a buzzing sound in any of my cars.

Help it won't let me create a new post. I have a 2002 4 runner sr5 v6 auto 4 wheel drive I have taken it to three different garages for a shake in the front end around 60 so they check it say everything is tight nothing wrong i am lost it feels like I am losing steering

However. I hear a squeak noise from the rear end even when I slowly go over speed bumps. Not always but every once in a while. Any thoughts? Could this be a serious issue?

I have a 2020 ORP, recently bought in July.
When I have my radio off, or really low, and I press the brake, I hear a super high pitched noise. It almost sounds electrical. Has anyone experienced this?
*Note: I am sure it happens when I have music playing, I just can't hear it.

If it sounds like a small electric motor running it most likely the ABS/Booster pump motor, it should only run for about 10 seconds whenever you start it after setting for a while and about every 3 to 4 depressions of the brake pedal.
If so it's totally normal.
It doesn't really sound like an electric motor, it sounds more like a super high pitched sound you'd here from a speaker or something, it is odd. I definitely have not heard the sound in any previous vehicle I have owned and can't find anything on the forum, or internet for that matter, that sounds like a similar issue. I am going to try to turn my radio completely off next time I drive, see if I hear it.
I think it is coming from the radiator or the engine.

I have a 2001 SR5
I've replaced all the belts except the timing recently, drove a lot, tightened and accounted for heat expansion, and still sometimes I hear a little whine on the start up. Do I need to replace my timing belt or something? It is getting colder where I'm at during the night now.
My second problem is that I hear a sort of metal rattling noise that seems to be around the right side of the vehicle when I accelerate. It's not noticeable in the cabin with all the windows up, but when I have them down I can hear it, and when I drive by something like a car to bounce noise back at me I really hear it. I think it's something to do with the heat shields being loose, or something with the exhaust system, but I haven't actually gotten underneath to check those yet. Has anyone had a similar problem where it wasn't the heat shield? I already want to replace my exhaust system so i'll check when I do that, but I don't want to miss something important. For the record, it's always done that, there's no drop in RPM or acceleration, just an ugly noise.

I am rocking a 2016 Trail with 46K miles. I have put them all on myself. It has just recently started getting cold out and I am now getting a knocking sound from start-up and during some accelerations from my muffler, I believe. The sound is right under the passenger seat and it is just one clunk, not continuous while moving. However, when I look under the vehicle during start-up, it doesn't happen. I am running the MBRP exhaust system. For the price, it's everything I needed for a little more throaty sound. Has anyone else had any experience with this? Is it just because of the cold?

I also have a rattling noise under my vehicle during acceleration. I replaced the exhaust so all of those new bolts are tight. I think it may be my heat shields as well but during the replacement, I looked at that and they were also tight. Just a 4Runner sound, I suppose.
