Noise when fan is in foot position

There is a noise in the middle of the dash behind the stereo (sounds like a cd is trying to eject or something and I don't have a cd player anymore and this is not about the stereo) and it only happens when the blower is in the foot or mixed foot and dash level vents. When I just have it in the dash level vents the noise stops. any suggestions?

Do a search for "air mix servo" or some combination. There are tons of threads on the subject. Long story short....that servo is going bad. You might be able to remove, clean the inside, and reinstall or it might be better to just replace. Also....they're a HUGE pain in the butt to access.
