Noise When Loss of Traction

I've done some research on this forum and through search engines and have found results that sound similar to my situation, but not exactly the noise I hear.

When I lose traction in the front left (drivers front) there is a strange noise, vibration is felt in the pedal, and power is removed from the wheels. I'm assuming this is the traction control kicking in to keep the wheels from spinning.

My question is about the noise just to make sure this is normal. My best description is that it sounds like when you pull and let go of one of those door stops that look like a spring that keeps your doors at your house from hitting the wall.

Yep it's the traction control or VSC (vehicle stability control, depending on situation). It's annoying (especially trying to cross a busy street with snow on the ground - downright scary). There's an easy 20 minute mod to install a switch to enable/disable. I run with mine disabled when it's snowy or slick (like for the past week) or when off-road.

Nice! I appreciate the confirmation and especially appreciate the link to the mod. I've always been jealous of my brother in law's TACO that could just push a button to turn his off!

I don't know what year your truck is, but I just disconnected that entire system a few years ago. I installed the switch but it was far easier to just disconnect the plug rather than installing the switch in-line before it. My system thru a fit one day as I was pulling into a parking space and refused to let me stop the truck before it hit the concrete post. My roommate can back me up when I say I had both feed on the peddle and was standing on it, it only pushed back and let the truck cost. Haven't had TAC VCS or any of those other crappy systems, just me and the truck, the way I learned to drive.
