Noob - Box in rear of 2000 T4R - Navigation?

Howdy,

I just bought a 2000 SR5 2WD 3.4L with Toyota Navigation (never used navigation before and love it!)

I have a steel box in the cargo area ( driver side near rear hatch) that measures about 6" x 6" x 5" that says "toyota, Denso" and some numbers. The box has 2 sets of wires attached. It is has studs coming up from the floor and the box sets on the those studs with wingnuts securing the box.

What is that box?

It more than likely is your navi unit. Take the cover off and see if there is a place to stick a DVD, if there is , eject and it will tell you what it is, By the disk that comes out.

Ha! I showed it to the guy at the truck parts division of Toyota of Escondido and he didnt know what it was, but was going to look it up for me. When I find out, I'll let ya know

According to the dealership my box is a "Navigation Locator Unit"
