Noob Toytec Adjustment Questions

Hello all! I just recently had my car lifted with the Toytec Boss w/ red coilovers. I had my shop do it because I am not a very mechanical guy. Everything looks really great and it drives nice on the highway, but it rides a little stiff- not more than stock, but more than I expected it. Here are my questions;

I am assuming I can use the spanner wrenches to alter the ride quality?

Does the amount of lift equate to a different ride quality?

What would be a better/less stiff ride- lower the lift or heighten it?

Am I expecting too much?

I havn't been offroad yet- was going to this weekend but its going to be pouring cats and dogs, so I only have on road driving on it for a couple days, but it definitely is more stiff on bumps than I would have thought. Thanks for any and all help!

The spanner wrench is to adjust your ride height, not the valving. You can't adjust your spring rate or valving without taking apart the shocks, so you're kinda SOL about "easily" changing the ride quality. You can lower your ride height which will give you more droop and possibly make it ride smoother, but as far as how stiff the ride is, that's fixed so to speak.

OK, so there is no way for me to adjust the ride quality without doing this, but is this something that people usually do?

Or am I just expecting too much from the boss/red coil setup? Should I have gotten the silver?

I don't think you can rebuild the Boss shocks and revalve them so yea, your best bet would be to go with a softer spring.

Number one thing i used to tell my customers....if you are worried about ride quality in even the slightest bit, do not get a lift. I don't care what the lift maker days. .it will change. ...maybe not much but you will notice a difference. You can call toytec and see if they offer a softer spring. Eibach makes their springs so it's possible.

My Toytec lift has not impacted my ride quality at all.

Maybe I can't tell...

There are those who can't tell because you almost expect some change.....even if it is slight...are less effected by lifts. But there are those that even the smallest lifts that give a slightly different "feel" can change the vehicle experience.

Boss shocks from my understanding do have the ability to be re-valved.

What he said! Don't get me wrong, I like the clearance, but after 4 years of getting thrown around by my suspension, I'm getting a little sick of it. I'm sure the E load range tires don't help, but still.

Post a pic of your truck. I'd like to see how high it is in the front. When I put mine on the fronts were too high and the ride was borderline harsh. I lowered the front about 3/4" and the ride improved noticeably.
