That place is a joke. I cannot stress enough how not worth that drive is Mark. Spend your gas on another trip somewhere.

I haven’t been there in more than a few years.
I do remember the main trail to the view spot being pretty easy but there were some spots that could get you in trouble
Especially the man made obstacles
I think
Prairie city in sac is a lot bigger and has way better obstacles
The last time I went out there with [MENTION=157695]theoutbackdream[/MENTION] it was fun.

Yes, yes and SUPER YES in that order.
Of course it's all relative... But my reasoning for adventuring is to break the norm, get away and re-align with a piece of the planet most folks never get to see because the world is in such a big damn hurry.
The land it covers is small. Pretty damn small. And it was mostly dirt trails aside from the small manmade stuff. So if you had some new gadget or equipment to test out, sure it would be great. But not worth a drive from near sac for. No way. I'm not an extreme wheeler either. Not by any means. But come on.
The icing on the cake was the absolute extreme quantity of class A, top shelf textbook DoucheBaggery. Just dudes in huge lifted Chevys and dodge diesels going in circles over and over through the mud pits at full throttle, families of 5/6 crammed into a RZR and flying around on main roads like they owned the place with complete disregard and lack of respect for any other person.
It was like the commuting version of off-roading: yeah you can still get done what you want, but you're surrounded by animalistic, tough guy, white-sun-glass-wearing, washed out frat guy Bros who are just there to use the word "holister" later in a social media post.
So yeah. My experience sucked. Worst place ever. Complete waste of time. I would rather drive 6 hours to be alone near a lake than 3 hours to drive over a cement drainage pipe half buried in the ground next to a coal-rolling bro dozer with a sleeveless shirt wearing driver.

Yea, It's honestly not worth the drive unless you're really itching to get out or just don't have a full day.
But being in the south bay, the drive to Hollister (1hr 30min) is just way easier than making it to the National Forest (3hr) for something so spontaneous.
Now if I were in Sac? Yea... No thanks.

Definitely true. I feel Hollister is great for anyone with a stock rig or something completely built out (especially on the manmade stuff). If you're somewhere in the middle or have gone other places, it's not all that worth it.
