I agree with you on the NorCal comment. I grew up in Redding and had family in Fort Jones. I grew up thinking everything south of Cottonwood was SoCal. :jump: .

Same here: grew up in Old Shasta, but I let people as far south as Chico and Willows claim NorCal. After that the valley gets too wide and flat landers don't understand.

Cool. I'm down the hill in Chico but do a good amount of work up the hill. Did you leave before the fire? Hope all is well.

Lived in Paradise for 16 years but spent the days in Chico (adults at work, kids in school, club soccer). One of our neighbors thought our home was our "weekend home." Moved to Roseville before the fire and completely revamped the house (now on weekends) replacing subflooring and a full wall due to dryrot. Got the place rented two weeks before the fire undid all my work. Everyone was fine, but it still hurts.

If anyone ever has the opportunity to go out to Ouray, CO to hit some trails, do it. It is spectacular, the views are awesome. Some of the trails are fairly easy to some extreme. Here's a few from last week.

Yeah, I've run in twice since the new re-route was opened and it completely changed the trail. If you plan to run it and think you can make it through the re-route (there are NO bypasses), start at the Alpine side so you will have gravity helping you down, I would not attempt with out solid axles, large tires and lockers going up. Once past that part, it's a good trail that is challenging, but doable. If you go through my build thread towards the last few pages, there's some info and pics from trips.

Just a portion of it. Up to the new section.
The entire trail up to that point is littered with so many places where rigs have hit rocks and trees.
Next time we want to go on a Saturday and take tools and be prepared.
We had the kids with us so didn’t want to get too crazy.
Even though the more off camber we were the more my son loved it. Lol.
First time there so it was a good day trip to scope things out.
