Ok, I know not the best spot for this thread but posted on a number of other sites and trying to gauge interest in a trip either on the 1st of November or the 7/8th of November.
Storms and resulting flash floods this season have damaged a lot of the back country roads, so I've redrawn this loop a couple times.
Plan is to meet in Big Pine and head out over steel pass camping the first night at the springs. From there, the route will take us south on Saline Valley Road- Up Lippencott to Race Track, hit tea kettle junction and over hunter mtn (camping somewhere on the trail that night). The third day will have the group finishing out Hunter Mtn, heading out Lee Flat before heading up to Cerro Gordo. Time permitting plan is to head north from Cerro Gordo along shelf road to Salt Tram ruins then down to Swansea.
The route could be run in reverse as well starting in Swansea and finishing in Big Pine if people were more inclined.
I have been on all these trails a few times each over the last 5 years, but always from the seat of a motorcycle usually solo and pressed for time so things went by rather fast. (normal bike ride is around 125-160 miles in a day)
Figure three pretty full days of driving and remote camping,
Pretty open to either week.
Plan on carrying an extra 5-10 gallons of fuel and at least one full size spare.
