Nose Dive While Braking

I can agree.



From what I gather from this post, Bilstien 5100's will help. OME springs will further help. Is there is any other suggestions?



I just put on bilstein 6112s on my 2016 TRD pro. My 6112s came with stiffer springs that reduced the amount of brake dive enough for my Mrs to notice. Now she's a happy camper when she drives it.
 
The nose dive is definitely apparent and I'm not used to it. It feels strange since with the KDSS the truck handles high speed sweepers few tightly.

But as you can attest to it will in the manner that you described.

wait you swapped the TRD PRO suspension with 6112s? Aren't they basically the same thing (minus adjustability.... I see you are lifted, nevermind lol)
 
I seriously cant stand the nose dive. Its the worst part about this vehicle. I just got done willingly working about 80 hours of overtime the past few weeks just to order an Icon lift to alleviate the issue. My truck only has 5 thousand miles on it but I just cant take it anymore. Anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Icon stage 2.

KDSS can only help side to side, not front to rear

You hate nose dive so you are going to lift it so it can nose dive further? If you just worked about 4 hours overtime you could buy some heavy springs and be done with it.

Or I could just buy a lift since I had plans to lift it in the future anyway?? Yes I could go the cheap option and buy stiff springs. Why not just lift it with stiffer springs and shocks, while still alleviating some nose dive if i can though?

I don't have a lift and have never noticed nose dive, but won't a lift make a nose dive worse by raising the center of gravity?
If a lift incorporates firmer springs and appropriately damped shocks, not necessarily. The main thing you are sacrificing fixing nose dive is ride comfort

I installed the bilsteins and oh so slightly stiffer springs, resulting in +/- a 3" lift) and the dive is gone except when you completely slam the brakes. Even then it's not the borderline safety hazard it was. It's also a better ride imo, but I despise a floaty vehicle.

Will you let us know if you like the ICON Stage 2? I am thinking about getting the ICON Stage 1.

My TRD pro has nose dive. High center of gravity, heavy sprung weight, more noticeable nose dive expected. Heck, I had nose dive even with the Audi S4 I used to drive (maybe it's because the engine is in front of the from suspension, not behind). I just drive with smooth acceleration, smooth braking, and keep reminding myself that this isn't a low center gravity sport car.

On road ride quality with the 6112s and the toytec rcc2.0 HD rear coils is much better in my opinion. Brake dive is almost gone. My pro used to sway a lot in the wind which was annoying and now it doesn't at all. Taking turns feels a lot tighter. The 6112s float over speed bumps as good as the oem did. As for off-road it soaks up the bumps and drops as well as the oem suspension. Even tho it's higher than oem set at the very top notch of the 6112s the 4Runner doesn't feel as top heavy as it used to. It feels a lot more responsive actually.

i dont see why you didnt just put new springs on the oem pro bilsteins and or a lift spacer and new rear springs. the pro already has a non-adjustable set of 6112s in the front. its what i did on a buddies trd pro and it achieved the same outcome.

The rear springs were changed out to toytec HDs. As for the fronts I didn't want to put a spring spacer on a soft spring and lose a little bit of travel sure I could've swapped a different spring on to the oem shock but wasn't too sure at the time if it would match the factory internal valving. The 6112s came with the springs and 3 more notches of adjustability if needed. I didn't bother taking apart my oem setup and just put them aside if ever I decide to sell/trade it in later on down the road.
