Okay I know everyone will say you can not get a transmission temp in a 96-98 4runner. I wanted to see if mine would send a code since it is a late model 98 4runner, anyways I tried the one everyone one uses and of course didn't get any readings. I then found a thread where someone posted a (experimental)code. When entered with the truck running it reads -40 I was giving up searching and turned the truck off upon turning the truck off I noticed the -40 turned to 168. That sounds like a real transmission temp, wondering if messing with the crude will fine tune it for us 96-98 runners with a scangauge 2
