Not Another Supercharger Question!!

I had no issues with mine. I would still be driving it if I wasn't almost killed in a head on collision. You have nothing to worry about unless you plan on drag racing all the time, or towing all the time. Have fun with it-it was great. If you need a top speed un-limiter from URD for a 5 speed, I have mine available.

tell me more?

i had mine on for a while, and no upgraded fuel system. No problems at all, and a decent amount of power for having such large tires and all. It always ran better at WOT.

The 3.4 is made for forced induction it shouldn't destroy the engine.

The "Z" in the engine code 5VZ-FE stands for forced induction in Toyota engines.

If it's in the first group, it's not factory installed but was designed and built for forced induction.

If it's in the second group, it's factory supercharged. For factory turbocharged, the letter "T" is used in lieu of the letter "Z".
examples:
4A-GZE is an A-series engine with DOHC sport cam angle (G), supercharger (Z), and EFI (E). 2L-T is a L-series engine with turbocharger (T). 1KZ-TE is a KZ-series engine with turbo (T) and EFI (E). 1KD-FTV is a KD-series engine with multi-valve (F), variable nozzle turbo (TV).
hth.

The "VZ" is just the engine family is it not? If I recall correctly 5(Fifth installment-or update) VZ(Engine Family) F(Narrow valve Angle cylinder head) and E (Electronic fuel injection)

"If it's in the first group, it's not factory installed but was designed and built for forced induction"

Do you have any links that justify that, no where have I heard that was the case. I am not trying to sound like an ass here, but I haven't heard of that before.

For example then, what does it mean then for the 2JZ-GTE, 7M-GTE

2(2nd version) JZ Engine family- G(Performance (Yamaha) Wide valve angle Cylinder head) T(Turbocharged) E(EFI)

7(7th version-update) M( Engine family).

Again, sorry for pointing you out. If you have a link that explains it all that would be great! (Learn something everyday).

I'm guessing you are asking about the URD top speed unlimiter. Toyota has the top speed of most vehicles limited based on tire speed ratings. This installs between the tranny and ecu (engine control unit) to fool the computer into thinking it hasn't reached that limit. If you have a modified 4runner, it comes in handy. Very simple hook up. Original cost was 149. I'ld like 100, but open to offers. These are pretty much impossible to find any more.
